Obituary of Christopher Antonio Ragsdale
Christopher Antonio Ragsdale, was born on Monday, June 12, 1989 to Kristle Marie Ragsdale and Walter Antonio Holimon at Hampton General Hospital in Hampton, VA. On January 26, 2023, at the age of 33, Christopher went home to be with the Lord. Christopher was a member of the Hampton Roads Independent Church youth team, and he served at the church until 2009. He was also a passionate football player who played for the Aberdeen Raiders during his elementary and middle school years, and he played for Hampton High School until he graduated in 2007. He went on to attend college at North Carolina Wesleyan University, where he played football for one year. His favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was a well-mannered young man, and he was respectful toward authority. He had a forgiving spirit and caring heart. He was a fun-loving son and a great father to his own son, King Antonio Ragsdale. He was his mother's whole world, and he was well-loved by his family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Family will receive friends Friday, February 10, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hampton Roads Independent Church, 714 East Pembroke Avenue, Hampton, Virginia 23669, and a Homegoing service will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hampton Roads Independent Church. An interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666. Christopher is pre-deceased by his grandfather: Harry Lewis Ragsdale; great-grandparents: Luther Bobby Willis, Jr. and Leola Anastasia Willis; great aunt and uncles: Nadira Latif, Luther B Willis III, and Lawrence Willis. He is survived by his mother: Kristle Marie Ragsdale; father: Walter Antonio Holimon; son: King Antonio Ragsdale; son's older sister: Nakiah Whitlow, whom he loved like his own; grandmother: Beverly Joanastasia Ragsdale; aunts: Karena Mae Ragsdale, Amaris Witherspoon (Dion), Tamie Lea Ragsdale; great aunts and uncles: Brenda Kirkland (Anthony), Charles Willis, Charlotte Jenkins, Danyiel Willis; cousins: Aveah Witherspoon, Alana Witherspoon, Elias Ragsdale, Juanita Wilkins, Shaniekwa Shelton (Edward), Lateesha Thomas (Nate); Aunt Janice Kendall-Mayo and daughters, Aunt Cheryl Blackwell and Family, Uncle Robert Lee and Family, Aunt Alicia Palmer (Freddie), Cousin Clifton Corbin, Cousin Kenton Powell, Kendall and Levy Family, Richmond / Holimon and Wilson Family, and a host of family, relatives, loved ones and close friends.
