Clara Dean Delk

Clara had worked at Shelton on the Bay and Newport News Shipbuilding.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Delk of Hampton, and daughter, Connie C. Carlisle of Ithica, New York; and mother and father, Virgil and Hulda Ashe of Tuckasegee, North Carolina. Survivors include three sons, Ricky N. Delk of Tuckasegee, North Carolina, James D. Delk of Hampton, Ronald L. Delk and wife, Michele of Newport News; two daughters, Mychelle Koedyker and Monica R. Delk of Newport News; three sisters, Lora Miller and husband, Herbert, of Chesapeake, Britta Cope of Tuckasegee, and Aileen Birch Field and husband, Charlie of Canton, North Carolina; and fourteen grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, June 20 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Clara's life will follow at 2 p.m. Interment will then follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
