I worked for Clarence at the shipyard. I was a young man then, and in that relationship I found Clarence to be a fair and honest man. While he expected each of his men to pull their own weight, at the same time he shielded them from any unjust pressures, stresses, or crucifixions that came down from our management or other department managers. He was down-to-earth. His easy going personality made him quite likable, and I came to admire him.

Funny story..... One morning as he greeted his men just prior to putting us to work, he pulled out a handkerchief to blow his nose. We all started laughing at him. He couldn't understand what was so funny. He had inadvertently grabbed a pair of his wife's underwear out of the dresser drawer instead of a handkerchief and was using it to blow his nose. You should have seen the look on his face when he realized his mistake. It was priceless.

Calvin Miles, Tom Gilliam, and so many others and I missed him when he retired. Personally, he helped me grow as an individual and I have carried some of the lessons I learned from him with me in my days since.

Rest in peace, Clarence.

There has never been a more giving and caring gentleman than Clarence Hunter. I knew Clarence and his wife for many, many years and enjoyed every minute that I ever spent in their company. I will forever treasure there memory. Fly high good friend as you go to meet your maker. 🙏🙏🙏

While sitting in my back yard today in my swing,I was remembering all the beautiful gardens Gramps had in the field behind my house and how he would come to my back fence and bring me vegetables and we talk and laugh. Going to really miss him. Gramps and Momma Jean have always been our neighbors for ever, but have such wonderful memories now to hold on to.

Clarence was a wonderful man. I loved him and the whole Hunter clan. We were very close growing up. So many wonderful memories. He and Emma Jean raised 4 amazing men. They are a beautiful family. My heart hurts but I know he is at peace .

The hunter family,

Sorry to hear of Clarence passing. Knew each other from shipyard. I was a piece work counter and counted clarance. The highlight of my day was a delicious BLT sandwich. Best I've ever had. Our thoughts and prayers are with you . Such a nice man.

So sorry for your loss. I remember a lot of days hunting together and just enjoyed listening to him tell stories in his slow country voice. They don't make them like that anymore.

Sharing a memory that was many years ago. We had a plot behind Clarences house where he also had a plot. We raised veggies there. When we would ride over to tend to the garden, Bobby and Clarence would get together and laugh and giggle. I knew whatever it was they were chatting about had to be good. I will always remember this. Two Hunters laughing like kids.

My heart hurts for this loss. However, it is hard to express the sadness yet happiness I feel when I think of Clarence! He was wonderfully sweet, charismatically funny and lit up a room with his infectious smile. Love and Prayers to the Hunter family and everyone whose lives he touched. The Lord has received another Angel!

I'm going to miss my grandad so much I have so many good memories like him taking me and my brother hunting in my younger days when no one else wanted to go I looked up to him he was a great man and will be truly missed rip I love you grandad until we meet again

Loved him dearly and he was one of my favorite cousins. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
