Constance Webb Hunsecker

Constance Webb Hunsecker, 94, left this world on Thursday, February 19, 2015 to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born in Bath County, Virginia, March 22, 1920, to the late Forrest and Bertie Webb.

Constance was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Elderedge H. Hunsecker, Sr; step-father, Hughby Dunnagan; and brothers, Bill Webb (Clara), Charles Webb (Frances), and Vance Webb (Marie).

She is survived by her brother Hugh Dunnagan (Betty), sisters, Jewel Sandora (Frank, deceased), and Shirley Hepler (Frank). She is also survived by her daughter, Constance Gail Richardson, son, Elderedge H Hunsecker, Jr, (Cindy), 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Constance graduated from Valley High School in Bath County and from Dunmore Business College in Staunton, VA. She was a former Miss Bath County. She moved to Hampton soon after graduating and began a long career with the Hampton city schools. She worked her way up to personal secretary to the superintendent. She was later appointed head of payroll with the City of Hampton schools where she remained until her retirement in 1982.

Constance was also a former President of the Hampton Educational Secretaries. She was a devout member of First Presbyterian Church in Hampton. She loved to spend time at her summer home in Jenkins Neck, in Guinea, Virginia, crabbing, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a kind, loving, and giving person who always put her family, friends and church before herself.

Graveside services will be held privately.
