Crystal Lee Palmer

It is with great sadness that the family of Crystal Lee McSweeney-Palmer, 38 years of age, announces her passing on July 20, 2019 after her brief battle with cancer. Crystal was born October 13, 1980 to Daniel and Kathleen McSweeney in Syracuse, New York. Crystal moved to Virginia in 1989 where she attended Kecoughtan High School and continued to reside with her family until her death. She enjoyed being with her family and loved the Dallas Cowboys, Nascar Racing, music, dancing, and singing. She also had a special love for animals, especially her fur baby, Lily. She loved her cats and even had some ducks. She loved movie nights with her children, who were her life. Crystal was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen McSweeney (2018); her grandparents, Thomas and Mary Lou McSweeney and James and Florence Griffin; cousin, Stephanie Lynn McSweeney; uncle, Daniel Griffin; and aunt, Sharon Thomas. Crystal will be loved and missed by her father, Daniel McSweeney; her fiancé of four years, Keith Walker; daughter, Nodia McSweeney; four sons, Domynick McSweeney, Romeo Robinson, Carlito Palmer, Christopher Palmer; grandson, Ayden Brown; brother, Chad McSweeney; four sisters, Robin McSweeney, Rebecca Minns (Lamar), Nicole McSweeney, and Tosha McSweeney; aunt and uncle, Sandra and Mike McSweeney; uncle and aunt, Timothy and Teresa McSweeney; uncle, Jerome McSweeney; three nephews; a niece; and a host of cousins and extended family. The family will receive friends 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Friday, August 9, 2019 at Zion Baptist Church, 125 W. County St., Hampton. A celebration of Crystal's life will begin at 11:30 am at the church followed by a committal service at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
