Delores Jones Presnell

Delores was born on November 8, 1941 in Warwick County (Newport News) Va to parents Mr. & Mrs. John R. Haughton.

Delores will be remembered for her love of her family, friends, and her favorite sports teams. She also enjoyed pampering herself weekly by getting her nails and hair done.

She retired from the United States Government as the Assistant Secretary of General Staff.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ray Presnell Sr., her son Thomas Judson Jones, Jr., her brother J. Raymond Haughton, sister Gloria H. Woods, brother in law Robert S. Hicks,Jr and first husband Thomas Judson Jones.

She is survived by her sister Cynthia L. Hicks, her grandson Thomas Judson Jones III (Gabi and great granddaughter CeCe), stepdaughter Sonya Presnell Upton (Michael) and several nephews and nieces that loved her dearly. She also left behind her maltese Rascal who was by her side at the very end.

Later in life, Delores and Ray lived a fabulous life in Sun City Center Florida. A month ago, Delores moved back to Virginia to live with her sister so she could be close to family in her final weeks.

We will forever cherish that beautiful smile and laugh that lit up any room.

Arrangements will be on Saturday, September 26, 2026 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA 23666 at 3pm.
