He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Alice Shortt; son, Patrick; sister, Margretta Harmon; brother, Gerald; and granddaughter, Hannah Rising.
Donald is survived by his wife of 63 years, Regina; daughters, Terry (Dean) Schap, Kristina (Andy) Williams; sons, Mark (Brenda), Tim (Cindy); eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church 2150 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, Virginia with a mass at 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park; afterwards a reception will be held at the church.
