Dorothy May Hayes

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luther E. Hayes; son, Charles Tano; and daughter, Vicky Bently.

She is survived by her son, William D. Kennedy (Terry); grandson, Robert Thompson; granddaughter, Charlene Chriss; great-granddaughter, Shawna Ranney (Tyler); great-grandson, RJ Thompson; and great-great-granddaughter, Alexi Ranney.

Dorothy was a life-long resident of Hampton, Virginia and was employed by Colonial Stores at the store location in Buckroe. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed going to NASCAR races. She also enjoyed watching baseball, always supporting the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed visiting the mountains in West Virginia, and especially sitting by the falls at Valley Falls just outside Fairmont, WV.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A Celebration of Life service will occur at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12:00 PM with interment to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
