Earl Shaw "Butch" Robinson
February 10, 1946 – April 11, 2021

On April 11, 2021, Earl Shaw “Butch” Robinson entered the heavenly gates of eternal rest.
He was born February 10, 1946 in Halifax County, North Carolina to the late Jake Stanley Robinson Sr. and Daisy Purnell Robinson.
At an early age he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at First Baptist Church of Hodgetown, NC and continued to worship there until he was unable to travel.
Earl graduated from Chaloner High School in 1964 and went on to work various jobs in Roanoke Rapids before being employed at Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Williamsburg, VA for 41 years. During that time he was drafted into the United States Army where he served until 1970. While working at Colonial Williamsburg, he continued his education at Christopher Newport Community College now Christopher Newport University. He was also a faithful member of the Providence Wing Lodge, which is Prince Hall affiliated.
Earl is survived by his wife Janice; two daughters, Janice A. Robinson and Shanequa Soto (Doryan); and five grandchildren, Michael Robinson, Saniya, Andre, Kimberley, David; a brother, Raymond Robinson Sr. (Shirley); a sister, Shyrl Mayo; sister-in-law, Joann Robinson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Other loved ones who preceded him in death are his brothers Jake Robinson, Jr., Cecil C. Robinson, and Basil Robinson.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be private.
