Edward William Becraft (Ed) 88 passed away peacefully Sunday February 17,2019 at York Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center with Family by his side. He was born March 19, 1930 in Suffern NY he is the only child of Joel Henry Becraft and Luella Miller Becraft.
Ed spent his childhood in Suffern, graduating from Suffern High School. He Joined the US Navy and served as a MM2 on the USS Jarvis (DD-799) during the Korean Conflict. After his Navy service, Ed Married Muriel Schoolcraft November 13, 1959 and settled in Ramsey New Jersey, where they raised their 4 children. Ed was very involved with his sons in BSA troop 31 Ramsey for many years. He was a member of Hawthorn Fortitude Lodge #200 F&A for over 60 years and a member FROMM-MAXWELL-DeBAUN POST No 859 Suffern NY. Ed loved spending time with his family. He spent many summers in Niantic Ct with family and dear friends. He would often talk of his trip to Alaska with his wife, the trip to visit his son James in Germany and the BSA trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, NM with his sons Joel and James.
Ed is survived by his wife Muriel S. Becraft. His 4 children and their spouces: Joel H. Becraft and Susan H Becraft, James E. Becraft, Hazel L Senterfit and David W. Senterfit , Jeffrey R. Becraft and Charisse W Becraft. 15 Grandchildren: Daniel Jackson, Bryan Jackson, Michael Becraft, Ashley Senterfit, Victoria Jackson, Katelyn Senterfit, Christopher Becraft, David Senterfit II, Lee-Anne Senterfit, Sean Becraft, Thomas Becraft, Erin Becraft, Heather Becraft, Melanie Becraft, Crystal Becraft. 4 Great Grandchildren: Abigail Senterfit-Shultz, Archer Senterfit-Shultz, Jackson Vlicky, Madeline Senterfit.
