Obituary of Edward Anthony Hartman
Edward A. Hartman, 69, of Hampton, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April l6, 2018. He was born on May 28, 1948, in New Prague, Minnesota, and had been a resident of Hampton for the last 33 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Hartman, his stepfather, Paul Hinderscheit and his brother, David Hartman. Ed spent over 20 years in service to his country. He retired from the Air Force in 1987. In 2011, he retired from HRSD after 20 years. He was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he was a lector and a member of the finance council. He was especially proud of the contributions he made to improving and updating the contents of the church library. He was a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus member and served as the secretary/treasurer. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Juanita Hartman; son, Eddie Hartman and wife Sandra of Morgan, Utah; daughter, Jenny Faulkner and husband David; three grandchildren, Alexis, Samiah and Elijah; his mother, Armella; three brothers, Bill and wife Amy, Leo and wife Kim, and Charlie and wife Ann; four sisters, Peggy, Carol and Ronnie, Arlene and husband Leroy, and Pauline and husband Dave; and sister-in-law, Karen. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Following the visitation a Mass of the Resurrection service will take place at 12:00 pm at the church. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens at 3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Food Pantry or the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL, 32256, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. The family would like to thank all of Ed's friends and medical providers for their care, comfort, love and support over the past few years. Those who knew him were aware of the medical challenges that he faced. We find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace. He will long be remembered for his generosity and sense of humor and will be loved and respected forever by his family.
