

He was born on November 17, 1928 in Philadelphia, PA, but was a longtime resident of Hampton, VA. MSG Maben retired from the Army in 1970 after 20 years of service; with duties in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was awarded the Bronze star, Vietnam Service, Good Conduct and Meritorious Service medals.
Mr. Maben was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Maben Sr.; wife, Margaret; son, John; sister, Marie; and brothers, Jack and Joseph. He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Joey (Pat) of Smithfield, daughter, Terry Edmonds (Denise) of Methuen, MA; son, Mike (Greg) of Oceanside, CA; daughter, Lori Faison (Rob) of Newport News, brother, Sam Maben (Paula) of Phila, PA; brother-in-law, Calvin Rhea (Rachel) of Gloucester; sister-in-law, Alice Maben of Media, PA; grandchildren, Major US Army, Mandy Feindt (Patrick), BJ Maben (Erin), Ashley Clark (Abe), Brandon Faison (Alyssa), Kayla Faison (Tyler Knapp); great-grandchildren, Landon Maben, Heaven Garza, Colton Helton, Presley Maben, Luke Faison, Palmer Feindt and Trip Feindt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Maben loved trips to Dover, DE to play his lucky 7 machines. He was also an avid golfer at LAFB until age 87 and often shot his age. He enjoyed family gatherings and loved being Pop Pop to his grand and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 6 at 12:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton VA, 23666 with a funeral service to follow. Burial with military honors will take place at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
