

Edward began working construction at an early age. He later owned a construction business with his brother Bobby and worked for Sussex Construction Company until his retirement. He was a member of the Wood, Wire, and Metal Lathing Industry, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, and the American Poolplayers Association (APA).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Joseph Willett and Mamie Estelle Foster; his wife Edith Hallett Willett; and his brothers Frances Willett, Robert "Bobby" Willett, and Cecil Willett.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Jenny Wilson (husband Jerry); his son, Michael Willett; his brother Steve Willett (wife Nancy); his sister Barbara Patrick; his grandchildren Ashley Wilson (husband Thomas) and Zachary Wilson; and his great-granddaughter Wren Wilson, whom he adored.
Edward found joy in playing pool, trying his luck at the slot machines where he was known for being especially fortunate), and helping other with construction projects around their homes. Above all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and his amazing great-granddaughter.
A devoted family man and skilled craftsman, Edward will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, and the quiet happiness he found in the people and pastimes he loved.
The family will receive friends for a viewing at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, on Friday, August 28 at 2:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be follow at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, on Friday, August 28 at 3:00 PM.
