Eleanor “Rusty” Cahill Whitaker, 85, of Newport News, died peacefully on March 22, 2015. She is now in the arms of God and her beloved husband, Ray. She was born October 29, 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Hugh Edward “Pete” Cahill and Mildred (Sass) Cahill.
Ray and Rusty were married for 37 years and they traveled the world for his work. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Charlie Harris, of Poquoson and her son, Mike Whitaker of St. Louis.
She also has five grandchildren, Scott, Jennifer, Steven, Jessica, and Carly as well as five great-granddaughters, Caroline, Audrey, Scarlett, Rilynn, and Raeya. She was loved and she will be missed.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Christ the King Episcopal Church at 4019 Big Bethel Road, Tabb.
