He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Curtis Burt, Sr. and Myrtle Frost Burt. He leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Frances Mary Burt; son, Ernest C. Burt, III; granddaughter, Heather Westheimer and husband, Josh; great-grandson, Reed Westheimer; and aunt, Edythe Frost.
Curtis graduated from Augusta Military Academy in 1945. He proudly served in the Navy on the USS Marquette during World War II. He retired after 35 years service from NACA/NASA in the Facility Engineering Group.
Curtis was a founding member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was an usher for 37 years.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Drive, Hampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am at the church. Private entombment will follow the service.
