Mrs. Esperanza I. Nieves-Rosario, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2014. She was a native of Puerto Rico and a resident of Hampton for 32 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Esperanza was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Ramon Nieves-Goicuria. Surviving members of her family include her son, Jesus Jose Nieves; daughters, Carmen I. Dickson-Nieves, Mairim Nieves-Rivera, Joselin Nieves-Barnes, and Maria Deliz Nieves; grandchildren, Elia, Darryl, Jr., Zaira, and Tyla; great-grandson, Isiah; and mother Genoveva Perez.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Esperanza’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
