Obituary of Eugene A Doucette
Eugene Armand Doucette passed away peacefully at Mary Immaculate Hospital on August 11, 2022. He was born in Dodgeville, Massachusetts on August 14, 1933 to Armand Doucette and Marie Blanche Doucette. He had seven brothers and sisters; Mary Ann, Rose Marie, Noela Genevieve, Paul Martin, Donald Michel, Danielle Medeiros, and Joanne Maria. He is survived by his sisters Noela, and Danielle, brothers Paul and Donald; daughters Regina Kubayko (Nick) and Cherie Doucette, five grandsons, (Chad, Andy, David, Brook, Aubrey), seven great grandchildren (Breann, Amber, Ashley, Katie, Leia, Reid, and Lorelei), and one great-great granddaughter Leigh. He joined the United States Air Force on April 28th, 1951 and served 28.5 years as a boom operator, flying KC-135 aircraft through the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He had many flights with Admiral John McCain and received commendation letters from him and was very proud of this. While in the military, he met and married Dixie Jean West and were stationed in a variety of places around the world. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant on February 1, 1979. He had a deep connection to nature, nurturing plants and animals. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, teaching horticulture and animal behavior and enjoyed telling stories of his time in the service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends and family on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 3:00pm at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
