Born on December 28, 1942, in Old Fort in McDowell County, North Carolina, Faye was the daughter of Clarence and Violet Burgin. Faye was a devoted wife and mother, admired grandmother, beloved great-grandmother, adored sister, and treasured best friend whose love and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, vibrant personality, strength, kindness, humor, generosity, and wisdom.
A dedicated professional with a wide range of skills, she spent her career excelling in customer service, office administration, and bookkeeping with Heilig-Meyers furniture concluding her long professional journey with her retirement from Orkin.
Faye is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Robert Willmott; her daughter, Lisa Haskins; her son, Stephen Willis; and her stepdaughters, Jennifer Lowe and Theresa Bitner. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Jessica Crawford, Ryan Haskins, Justin Lowe, TJ Lowe, Adam Bitner, Brittney Willis (deceased), and Ashley Carpenter; six precious great-grandchildren: Carter Crawford, Sebastian Crawford, Walker Haskins, Georgia Haskins, Olivia Carpenter, and Bryson Carpenter; two great-great grandchildren: Jaylyn Chalaire, Jaxson Manjarres, and her twin sister, Kaye Allison.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, including gardening, shopping, holiday decorating, cooking, playing aggravation with her children and grandchildren, and faithfully recording and watching her favorite television shows. Her home was always a warm and welcoming place where family and friends gathered, knowing they would be met with love, comfort, and acceptance. Faye had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel valued, wanted, and at home.
Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her love, lessons, stories, and memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Celebration of Life will be held later in September 2026. Additional information will be shared with those who notify the family or express interest through the memorial page established by the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Faye's honor.
Faye was profoundly loved, will be dearly missed, and will never be forgotten. Her love, guidance, and cherished memories will remain in our hearts forever. We are grateful for the blessing of sharing life's journey with her and for the lasting impact she has had on each of our lives.
