

Frank Renick Hannah passed away on February 28, 2015, at the age of 89. Born in Wayne, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Fincastle, VA and was a resident of Hampton for 55 years, before moving to Suffolk in 2013.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Grace Hannah; by his brothers Bill, Tom, and Bob; and by his wife of 52 years, Margery West Hannah.
He is survived by his sons Clif (Kim) and Bill (Barbara); by his five grandchildren Josh (Sandi), Matthew (Lizzie), Spencer, Forrest, and Caitlyn; and by his three great-grandchildren Autumn, Miranda, and Sean.
Frank joined the Coast Guard at the age of 17, and enjoyed many adventures all over the world. When he returned to civilian life, he attended college in Atlanta, where he majored in graphic arts. It was there that he met his future wife, Margery. They were married in 1953, and moved to Hampton in 1958. Frank was the head of the Graphic Arts Department of WVEC for many years, before starting his own business, Multi-Print, in 1970.
Affectionately known as “Big Dad,” Frank will be remembered for his love of family and his wonderful sense of humor. He was generous with his friends and his community; liked and respected by those who knew him. Frank was an avid numismatist, and a leading national authority on obsolete paper money.
In lieu of flowers, Frank requested that memorial donations be made to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy, 3373 Pruden Boulevard, Suffolk, VA 23434.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a celebration of his life to begin at 2:30. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
A memorial wake will be held at Multi-Print, 911 G Street, Hampton after the service.
