Fred was more like a brother than a BNL.  It’s hard to remember a time when he was not a part of our family. I have so many fond memories of his funny stories, teaching me to drive a stick shift, and deep discussions about life in general. He was patient, kind and tried to evaluate  every challenge from all perspectives. He appreciated life and he enjoyed  the everyday pleasures as much as anyone I have ever known.  Heaven has gained a special angel. I will always miss him!

The funeral was beautiful. I watched it on T.V.  I love you and I am praying for you and your family. May  God wrap his loving arms around you and family  give you peace and comfort. I love you.

I AM SO SORRY TOO HEAR OF YOUR LOST, OF  FRED.
I CANE TOO WORK AS A CARE GIVER FOR HIM ,FOR 3 YEARS, FRED  WAS EASY TOO TAKE CARE, AND ALWAYS PLEASANT.
I WILL ALWAYS  FELT THAT IN HIS OWN WAY HE APPRECIATED MY SERVICES,,EVERY MORNING BEFORE I LEAVE I WOULD PLAY THE SONG

Fred Blevins was a friend of mine. I first met Fred in the mid 70s when we moved into the neighborhood on Yale Drive in Hampton. All the neighbors were good friends knew each other. We would get together for backyard cookouts by taking a section of fence down between two houses so we could picnic on one side and play volleyball on other other. We later formed a volleyball team called the "Yale Drivers" and played in local tournaments.
 
   We used to have a hilariously good time with "Turkey hunts" also. They were like scavenger hunts with clues placed over the Northampton area. We would drive around while deciphering cryptic messages leading to the next clue. It was such great fun!
   
   One year a bunch of us guys went to watch the Washington Nationals baseball team play in DC.
 
   Fred and I both worked at Newport News Shipbuilding and had carpooled together for a time. Fred sometimes gave the facade of an ol' country boy and spoke with a southern drawl. In reality Fred was a very smart guy who worked on submarines as a Nuclear Test Engineer. 

   I never heard Fred say an unkind word. He was a good man. He was a kind man. Fred was the type of guy you liked being around. We will miss you, Fred.  When you get to heaven say hello to Susan for me.

We are so sorry for the loss of Freddie! It's hard to let go, but just think about the wonderful reunion he's having with Graham, Fannie, Betty and others. Hold on to the good memories and keep the faith that you will see him again.
