Fred was a friend to everyone. He and my husband ,Orren would talk baseball all the time.  I don't think we will ever know how much he has done in this life. He helped a lot of young 2nd. Lieutenants when in was at LAFB O club. I'll bet you didn't know he went to the grade schools to teach the kids about our flag. RIP  Fred,see you soon

Your Smile
Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand I cannot touch, I still have many memories of the one I loved so much.  Your memory is my keepsake, with which I'll never part, God has you in he keeping I have you in my heart.  Sadly missed but never forgotten.

My condolences to the Whitesell family.  I first met Fast Freddie in 1998 when I came to Virginia and he did not change one bit from that very first day to the last time that I  saw him.  Fred will be sadly missed by many as it seems that everyone in the area knew him.  Working with him at the Naval Weapons Station Yorktown was a pleasure to me and all others that he came in contact with.  So all I can say is "Good By Fred, I will see you later my friend."  Until then, I will miss you!

To the Whitesell family and the many friends he has.  I met Fred in 1973 when I was transferred to Hq TAC and he was a friend from day one. I just learned of his passing from Bob Farrell at St Joseph Church this evening.  My prayers and heart go out to you all.  Fred retired a year prior to me and I became the keeper of the many NCAA & NFL pools that he ran.  I know that was a huge responsibility when I would get a call from the General wanting to know where his copy was for the week. Fred was always someone you could really count on and I personally will miss the many times we would get together after we both retired.  This is one of the times in our lives that saying we are so sorry seems like so little.  God Bless you all in this tragic loss.  He will be missed, but remembered by me for life.

We knew Fred from being members of Post 25. He always spoke to us and wished us a nice day and if we had any concerns that needed to be done to improve the Post he was interested. Fred was a good and decent man and gave me many reasons to appreciate life. I remember him with fond appreciation for his outlook on every thing around him. God's speed, my friend. You deserve an eternity of peace and pleasure..

So sorry for you loss. My sincere condolences to family and friend. My father (Elton Williams) and Fred were in the AF at Charleston AFB together in early 60s and remained friends for many years.  My father thought the world of Fred, he attended my father's 75 birthday party in Goldsboro NC, made my father so happy.   I'd run into Fred at BX or where somewhere a baseball player was signing autographs,  always enjoyed talking to him.  Again, so sorry for your loss.

I had the privilege of knowing Fred for many years – he was a joy to talk to and always seemed to maintain a positive outlook on life. He will be missed.

Freddy was a fun person to be around. He was always joking and loving life..  He loved his family. friends and sports in that order..  He will be truely missed. My love and heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family.

I was introduced to Freddie though a friend and quickly discovered that Freddie was a friend to everyone. Freddie lived Matthew 7:12, not just by his words but by his actions, a man of God and friend to all.  His outgoing personality, fun loving smile, passionate stories of Yankee baseball and tales of his service in the Air Force will be sorely missed. I pray there is baseball in heaven my friend.

I will miss Fred. I have know him for 34 years and worked for him for quite a few of those years. I have pretty much always worked on King St., and Fred was fondly refered to as "The Mayor of King Street". My heart goes out to his family. I feel lucky to have known such a unique person. Somthing I've said to him it seems like a million times I would like to say one last time, Goodbye Fred!

Fred was a special person everyone loved friendly Freddy he will be missed by many.
