
George was born in Amherst, Virginia, and soon after moved to Hampton, where he would spend most of his life. It was there that he met his wife, June, and the two were married in 1958, building a life together centered around family and hard work.
He was a dedicated tradesman and a lifelong member of Local Union 540, now Local 110, where he was known as a dependable union brother. He began his career as a plumber and later expanded his work into HVAC, taking pride in his skills and the workhe provided.
He is survived by his children, Stephen Campbell and Kenneth Campbell; his grandchildren, Ken Campbell Jr., George Campbell III, and Kristen Campbell; and his great-grandchildren, Emerson Campbell and Aubrey Campbell. He was preceded in death by his son, George Campbell Jr., and his grandson, Brandon Campbell.
George enjoyed a simple and hardworking life. He liked fishing, working on cars and boats, and always had a project to keep him busy. He will be remembered for his work ethic, his willingness to help, and his steady presence to those who knew him.
A graveside service will be held on Monday May 4, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park, located at 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton VA, 23666.
