As a sales representative, with a career that spanned over 40 years, he retired in 1995. He had worked for numerous companies including, Coke, Pepsi, 7up, Keebler, and Frito Lay.
Family and friends knew George as an avid Washington Red Skins fan. He was also a man that liked to sing, singing at church and at PACE. George was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Another enjoyment was being in the great outdoors and enjoying fishing and being at the beach.
George is preceded in rest by his adoption parents, Charlie Robert and Audrey Law Moss; father, Thurman Nance; mother, Louise Martin Nance; and nephew, Brian Harrison. Surviving members of his family include his wife of 53 years, Ann S. Moss; children, George Lee Moss, Jr. and wife Suzanne, Tabitha Renee Hayes and husband Daniel, and Joy Elizabeth Covey and husband Michael; nine grandchildren, Jessica, Wayne, Molly, Caleb, Chloe, Hayden, Christian, Sophie, and Lily; sister, Janie Harrison; brothers-in-law, Tim Scott and Mack Scott; and nieces and nephew, Amber Swindle, Stephanie Sensi, Chelsea Scott, his Dr. Pepper Girl Tiffani Scott, Patrina Harrison Ozmore, Elizabeth Harrison Vaughan and Wendell Harrison.
Special appreciation and thank you to the PACE organization, especially to Dr. Mack, Dr. Evans, and all the caregivers that worked with George.
Memorial contributions may be made to PACE in loving memory of George.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home and Memorial Park. A celebration of George’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 26 at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park.
