Harold Arindell Perry

Harold was a U.S. Army veteran and obtained the rank of E-5. He earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Three Stars. He became a retail sales manager with G.C. Murphy’s and, later, a produce manager and driver for Saville Produce. Harold was known for his “green thumb” and passion for flower and vegetable gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vertie Lee Perry; brother, Leroy Perry; and sister, Mary Louise Briggs. He is survived by his partner of 29 years, Marion Perry; son, Oliver Perry (Kamisha); daughter, Lisa Perry; step-daughter, Monica Perry; and granddaughter, Kaitlin Perry.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00, Thursday, May 29, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 30, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, in Suffolk, VA.
