Helen grew up in Buckroe Beach where her parents had a business, Pittman Cottages. She attended Francis Asbury Elementary School, Buckroe Junior High and Hampton High School, and graduated with the class of 1954.
Helen was preceded in rest by her parents, Luther and Sydney Pittman; her brothers, Robert and Stadley Pittman; and her sister, Ruth Pittman Bailey. She is survived by her beloved husband, Harry Robert Bukovich (Fuzzy), of Hampton, VA and two children; Robert Craig Bukovich of Hampton, VA and Julie Bukovich Roberts of Gloucester, VA; her grandson, Brett Wayne Roberts of Gloucester, VA; and her sister, Nira Pittman Brushwood.
Helen was a member of Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church since 1976. She enjoyed her many friends, including her bridge group. She was a member of the Hampton Women’s Club where she shared many good times.
Helen loved her class reunions and attended them all. She loved her classmates and enjoyed her friends and neighbors. She loved her family and was happily married for nearly 57 years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Linda Schneider, who took care of Helen for many years and loved her. Special thanks to Pam Craft who came to our home for many years to cut and perm Helen’s hair. We’d also like to thank three caregivers who helped take care of Helen at home; the late Pat McQueen, Marie Archer and Corinne Small. Corinne has been with Helen for the past nine years and loved her like her own. Thank you ladies.
