Obituary of Helen Naomi Ward
“You can shed tears that she is gone or you can smile because she has lived “ Helen Ward left this world in peace on November 2, 2018 at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of her family. Helen was a native of Wilmington, North Carolina where she met the love of her life and eventually married. She was a resident of Hampton Roads for 47 years where she worked has an Office Manager at Suttle Motor Corporation for 41 years. Helen spent her days taking care of her family in addition to working full-time. She loved spending her weekends gardening and hanging out by the pool but nothing made her happier than spending time on the beach with her children and grandchildren. Helen is preceded in rest by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters as well as her son, Max Ward, Jr. Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Max Ward, Sr.; son, Rodney Ward; and daughter, Tanya Davenport. Helen has six grandchildren, Heath Ward, Matthew Gandee, Alexandria Earhart, Taylor Davenport, Emma Ward and Maddox Ward. Helen also spread her love to four great-grandchildren, Lilly Earhart, Lincoln Gandee, Mckinley Gandee and Tyler Gandee. A funeral service will be held for Helen on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home in Hampton, Virginia.
