He was a resident of the Gardens at Warwick Forest in Newport News, Va. "Chug" earned his nickname by overcoming obstacles from spina bifida and "chugging" along. He was a graduate of Bethel High School and loved the Bruin football team. He was given the game ball from Bethel's first state football championship in 1974. Chug had a special fondness for dogs. One dog took it upon herself to become his personal bodyguard. His interests included fishing, visiting neighbors, playing pool, watching the Air Force Thunderbirds, and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks. Chug considered himself a "sit-down comic" because of his bad jokes. He was always happy and smiling. His jobs at the Hampton Coliseum and Dixie Diggs Auto Parts kept him active. Chug was preceded in death by his father, Henry E. Morelli, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Peggy W. Morelli; his sister, Linda M. Bump; one nephew, Dennis Tuinei; two great-nieces, Aurora and Aurelia Tuinei; and a great-nephew, Grant Sletten.
