OBITUARY

Herbert "Chip" Allen Glazer

July 10, 1956June 28, 2020

Herbert “Chip” Allen Glazer entered the Lord’s grace on Sunday June 28, 2020 unexpectedly in his own home.

Chip was born on July 10, 1956 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather “Pawpaw.” Chip will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a hard-working family man. He worked as a welder by trade for over 35 years. He enjoyed the simple things in life. He enjoyed going to the movies and collecting and watching old war movies. He was an avid football fan, loved good food, playing board games, and spending time with his family and friends. We will carry him forever in our hearts and minds.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years of marriage, Connie Marie Glazer; daughter Theresa Wright (Mike), son Allen Glazer (Ellen); his brother Harold “Corky” Arthur Glazer; and his 3 grandchildren Michael Jr. “June,” Hollie, and Vivienne. He is also survived by his biological family in Germany, mother Maria Buhlinger, brother Karsten Buhlinger, sister Gabriele Gillardon, sister Gabi Siebert, and brother Horst Sauerhammer.

Chip was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Arnold Melvin Glazer of Brooklyn, New York and Maria Theresia Adeline Glazer of Karlsruhe, Germany, and biological father Siegfried Sauerhammer of Eggenstein, Germany.

The visitation will be Friday, July 3rd 11am to 12pm at Fox Hill Road Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at noon with the burial to follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of sending flowers, please consider donating to Chip’s favorite charity, the Disabled American Veterans https://www.dav.org/.

Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
