

Herman Lee Davis Sr., 73, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on June 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 30, 1952, in the Bronx, New York, Herman was the beloved son of Charles Lee Davis and Alma Davis. He attended school in Brooklyn and began his working career in his early twenties at Metropolitan Geriatric Center, where he faithfully served as a cook for 17 years. After leaving the center, he pursued a new career path, embracing each opportunity with determination and a strong work ethic.
Beyond his career, Herman was a devoted husband, a dedicated father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a true passion for cooking and found joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Known for his warm spirit, infectious personality, and wonderful sense of humor, Herman was often the life of the party. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together, making everyone feel welcome and loved.
Herman is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Wanda Davis; his sons, Earl Davis, Charles Davis (Natasha), Herman Davis Jr., and Paul Davis; seven cherished grandchildren; two beloved great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Alma, Diane,and Judy. He also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lee Davis and Alma Davis, and his brother, Charles Davis Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.The eulogy will be delivered at 4:30 p.m., followed by a prayer at 5:00 p.m. Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park 2551 North Armistead Avenue Hampton, VA 23666
Herman’s legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire and comfort those whose lives he touched.
