Howard Kelroy Carter

Howard lived a life filled with music, love, and devotion to his family.

Howard was predeceased by his cherished wife, Geneva A. Carter who passed away on May 16, 2024. Together, they shared a deep bond and a love for life that touched everyone who knew them.

A proud father of five, Howard is survived by his children, Alicia Carter Best, Hasani Mosi, Michael Carter (Darrina), Steven Carter, and Antwon Carter; his brothers John Carter (Doree), Walter Carter, and sister Elizabeth Eaves; a host of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and special friends, who were the light of his life.

He was known for his infectious enthusiasm and his passion for music, both as a talented guitarist and a skilled DJ. His love for music was a central part of who he was, and he found joy in sharing it with others.

Howard's life was a testament to his kind spirit, his dedication to his family, and his unwavering love for music. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to celebrate Howard Carter’s life will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666 on August 23, 2024, at 12 noon. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring a remarkable man whose legacy will live on through the memories he created and the love he shared.
