Howard Ray Gibson, age 69, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2010. Howard was a native of Moberly, Missouri and had been a Newport News resident for 30 years. He served honorably in the US Navy, retiring in 1979. He also worked as an Electronics Technician in the Civil Service until retirement after a total of 45 years of government service.
Howard is survived by his wife of 48 years, Setsuko Gibson; his brother, Larry Gibson and his wife, Sandy of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; and five sisters, Paula Cook of Bettendorf, Iowa, Darline Dutton and her husband, Charlie of Moberly, MO, Kaye Rumsey of Shreveport, Louisiana, Ginger Patrick and her husband, Bob of Wentzville, MO and Carolyn Morgan and her husband, Clarence of Tulsa, OK.
A graveside service will be held with military honors Friday, April 2, 2010 at 1 PM at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA.
