Ilse Martha Hilliard

Mrs. Ilse Martha Hilliard passed June 10, 2011. She was born June 6, 1921 in Forderstedt, Germany and had previously resided in Chester, Virginia, and Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. She moved to Hampton, Virginia in 1985.

She has now joined her loving husband of 46 years, the late Chief Warrant Officer Claude Raymond Hilliard. During her husband's Army career, she accompanied him to various posts in the United States, Japan, Italy and Germany until his retirement in 1962. She was also a member of the Braxton-Perkins Post 25 of the American Legion.

She is survived by her sister, Gertrude Kimball; daughters, Mrs. Kaylene Anderson and husband, David, Mrs. Claudia Wikan and husband, Walter; grandson, Mr. Louis A. Ruffin, IV and wife Christine; great-grandchildren, Hunter E. Ruffin, Justin R. Ruffin and Mrs. Leigh-Ellen Treadwell.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 16 at Parklawn Memorial Park.
