Merry Christmas in heaven Mr. Burley, We sure do miss seeing you!

What a giant of a man.  Jim was much loved and will be greatly missed.  He always had a kind word for everyone.  His prayers were so precious.  He left us so suddenly but we know he is in the presence of the Lord.  Christine, we love you dearly and we are here to help you in any way.  We lift you daily in our prayers.

Christine, May God continue to be with you and your family. I remember when I was younger going to your neighbors (my aunt & uncle) and playing tag with your boys and my cousin Rodney. So sorrow for your family's loss.  Praying for your family.  Jim was a very nice person.  Enjoyed working with him many years in the shipyard.

On Monday I lost a good friend and colleague .... He will be missed dearly ....... Jim and I started horse trading about 15 years ago .... He was a shrewd negotiator and a savvy individual ........ Soon we started trading knives and tools and our friendship grew ..... My deepest sympathy to Christine and the family....

My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. and Mrs. Burley in November of 1998. We moved right next to them!! We have many great neighbors, but we have always said the Burley's were the best neighbors you could ever ask for. Jim could be counted for his one finger wave, wearing his brown leather belt and saying I've never met a stranger. He used to say he wishes he was a better neighbor, BUT it is  US who wishes we were better neighbors!! We love y'all and consider it an honor to have met, known and lived next to you for the last 17 years.

Christine, I was very saddened to learn of your husband's passing.  May your fond memories carry you through.

So sorry to hear about your loss.  You know that God and Jesus are in the best position to comfort us when we lose a loved one in death.

A wonderful man who will be remembered for his grace, humor, and devotion to things most important, God and family.  To know him was to count him a friend and his love of God was made manifest in is love for people.  He will be deeply missed for he was deeply loved.

Jim was a soft spoken man, when he prayed his words came from deep down in his soul,I miss him already and Christine, both very loving and giving,we had a chance to talk a couple of Wednesday's ago when we came back to Providence for wed. night service and I am so glad we did.Christine their is nothing I wouldn't do for you if you ask. I am so glad that I got to see James recently and am sorry we didn't get to talk more. Chris, Jr and Darlene, Tim and Patty and all of the grandchildren and great grand children, I am so sorry for the great loss I know you all feel and hope that these next few days will be made a bit easier by the happy memories you will all share.

My wife and I have known James and Christine for close to twenty five years and Lucy and I will miss seeing him getting ready for those trips that he enjoyed so much.  James had a great LOVE for GOD and his LOVE for his family.  All of our neighbors were truly blessed to have known this beautiful spirit as a close friend.  MAY GOD BLESS HIS FAMILY AND GIVE THEM PEACE AS GOD HAS OPENED THE GATES OF HEAVEN TO WELCOMES JAMES HURLEY. Rest in PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND.

Uncle James was the sweetest and most gentle man I have ever known.  Uncle James loved people and enjoyed their company.  I don't think I've ever seen him without a smile on his face and ready to talk.  Although we are so sad and in shock, I can just see Uncle James smiling and rejoicing in heaven telling Jesus, how he had no idea that he was going to be making this trip and how excited he is to finally meet him face to face.  I ask God to comfort all during our time of loss.  I love you Aunt Chris!
