

Eddie was a Native of Hampton, Virginia and a resident of Gloucester County for the last 22 years. He was a welder and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing music in his spare time. He sustained a head injury in a fishing pier fall on March 4, 1986, at 23 years old. After the accident he lived with his mom and step-father enjoying watching baseball and football with them as well as occasionally taking trips with them to visit other family members.
He was preceded in death by his father, David J. Freeman; his step father, Jerry L. Woodlief, Sr.; and his brother, David Eugene “Gene” Freeman. He is survived by his mother, Lena L. Woodlief; brother, Scott J. Freeman, and his wife Anne; sister-in-law, Janice B. Freeman; step-brother, Jerry L. Woodlief, Jr.; step-brother, Gregory S. Woodlief, Sr., and his wife Laura; six nephews; and five nieces.
A graveside memorial service for James will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
