James L. Murray, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. He was born in Kenansville, N.C. on December 20, 1945. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for six years and retired from NAPA Auto Parts in 2009.
James is survived by his wife, Marian; two sons, Ted (Michele) and Gary; five grandchildren, Patrick, Steven, Christopher, Laura, and Chloe; his mother, Elizabeth; and brother, John (Pansy) Murray.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, May 31, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of James' life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, at Providence Free Will Baptist Church, Hampton. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Providence Free Will Baptist Church, 731 E Little Back River Rd, Hampton, VA 23669.
