James Joseph Sullivan, age 77, passed away at home on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Sullivan was born in Trenton, NJ and was a resident of Hampton for 34 years. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, and retired as SMSGT after 28 years of service. He then later became a real estate agent with ERA Realty and retired in 2001.
James is preceded in death by his wife, Tina Sullivan; and his son, Jim Sullivan, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Michael and Richard Sullivan; daughters, Dolores Gomez-Rey, Carole Lassiter, Marie Weirich, Veronica Sullivan, Maria Haney, and Janet Shackleford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Bobby Sullivan.
