

Janet May Robertson, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly at home on February 28th, 2015 at the age of 88. She was born March 19th, 1926 in Lakewood, Ohio to Gail and Gertrude Berkey and in 1948 she married Thomas Alexander Victor Robertson, who preceded her in death.
Upon graduation from Rocky River High School in 1944, she attended Miami University of Ohio. She remained in Rocky River/Cleveland/Bay Village until 1959 when she moved to New York and lived until 1977.
Janet enjoyed Bridge, boating and was an active member of the Northport Yacht Club. In 1980, she moved to Panama City Florida. She worked at ‘The Gallery of Art’, volunteered at the polls and served as a Florida Court ad lautim for children. She enjoyed the beach and outdoors. In 1996, Janet moved to Hampton, Virginia. She continued her service as a poll volunteer, played bridge weekly, enjoyed the local YMCA water aerobics and became a Master Gardener. Her love of travel took her many places. Over the years, she lived in Ohio; Northport , NY; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Ridgefield, Connecticut; Panama City FL; and Hampton, VA. Janet led a full life as a devoted wife and mother.
She is survived by three sons, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Alexander Victor Robertson of Indianapolis, IN. His children, Gail Caroll, James Brooks, and their mother, Resa Robertson. Scott Berkey Robertson of San Antonio, TX. His wife, Katie, their children, Patrick Francis, Rachel Victoria, and Daniel McKeown. Gordon Jay Robertson, of Hampton, VA. His wife, Michelle, their children, Alison Jay, William Buck, Thomas Richard, and Elizabeth Victoria, and their grandson William Buck and mother Ale Bowman.
Visitation will be at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home Thursday, March 5th, 1:00 PM with a Celebration of Life at 2:00. Family will receive friends in their home at a reception immediately following the ceremony. Janet will be laid to rest in Ohio alongside her husband and parents in a private family ceremony at a later date.
