JC was born January 19, 1951 in Newton County, Mississippi to Mildred McDonald and the late JC McDonald Sr. He was number seven of seventeen children, whom they called June.
He received his early education in Newton County School System. JC (June) enlisted in the United States Army and did one tour in Germany. After which he relocated to Virginia where he met and married Evelyn Childress. Together they shared many pastimes and hobbies such as fishing, cooking, gardening and vacationing in the Bahamas. JC (June) also had a love for cars, when he wasn’t being the family mechanic he would often watch a good drag race. Everyone that had the pleasure of knowing. JC (June) knew that he loved his NFL Team “The Cowboys”. JC was employed with Gwaltney of Smithfield for 32 years and later became a truck driver for Howelle Motor Freight Company until his illness.
Jc had a love for his children Dianna, Jason, Wayne and Nikeyta that they will forever cherish. Therefore, our loss is heaven’s gain. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn McDonald, father, JC McDonald Sr., two brothers, Jerry McDonald and Willie Earl McDonald, three sisters, Sandra Kaye McDonald, Mary Francis McDonald and Mildred Burrage.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wonderful mother Mildred McDonald of Union, Mississippi, two daughters, Dianna McDonald of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Nikeyta Matthews (Sylvester) of Davenport, Florida; two sons, Christopher Jason McDonald (Jessica) of St. Cloud, Florida and Dwayne McDonald of Amarillo, Texas; sixteen Grandchildren, Steven McDonald, Damion Faulkner, Joshua McDonald, Javon McDonald, Kristian (Mike) Reid, Brandon Noa, Jacob McDonald, Rachael McDonald, Diamond McDonald, Tajah White, Shianna McDonald, Kiairra Gilliam, Deja Bodrick, Harrison Bodrick Jr., Raishon Bodrick and Lashona Bodrick; fifteen Great-grand-children; three brothers, Willie Jay McDonald of Chicago, Illinois, Larry McDonald (Ven) of Gautier, Mississippi, and Charles McDonald (Bobbie) of Union Mississippi; ten sisters, Dorothy Jean Lawton of New York, New York, Minnie Fairley of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Bobbie Mathes (Charles) of Gautier, Mississippi, Betty McDonald of Federal Way, Washington, Pasty Michael (Johnny) of Moss Point, Mississippi, Rita Mays (Michael) of Union, Mississippi, Ruby Dukes of Burleson, Texas, Mary McDonald of Union, Mississippi, Brenda McDonald of Pascagoula, Mississippi and Lisa Williams (Jack) of Moss Point, Mississippi; In-laws Bessie Vivian of Carthage, Mississippi, Ollie Brazzle of Dixon, Mississippi, Geneane McDonald of Union, Mississippi; special Nieces Skitteno McDonald, Shameka Bailey and Jerri McDonald, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday May 25, 2019 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home 2551 N. Armistead Ave Hampton, VA 23666. A Celebration of JC's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday May 26, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
