John Patrick Cannan

CMSgt Cannan served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam conflict and received many decorations during his career. He retired in 1990 after 30 years of service.

John was preceded in rest by his parents Allen and Mae Cannan, and brother Chip Cannan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jackie Cannan; daughter, Deborah Whelan of Arlington, VA; grandchildren, Jack, Anne, Mary and Elizabeth Whelan, all of Arlington, VA; brothers, Patrick Cannan of West Palm Beach, FL, and Mark Cannan of San Antonio, TX; sisters, Mary Sayre of Hudson, NH, and Catherine Cannan of Huntington Beach, CA; and son-in-law, Ed Whelan of Arlington, VA.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 27, 2015 from 10 to 11:00 am at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Eugene Kole officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
