John Adams Roane Jr.

John was a native of Norfolk and resident of Hampton for fourteen years. He attended the University of Texas-El Paso where he obtained his Master’s Degree with Honors. In addition to being in the Air Force, John was also a retired Physical Therapist with Riverside Regional Medical Center and Amedisys Home Health. He was also a member of Baptist New Life Church in Yorktown, Va.

John is preceded in rest by his parents, John A. Roane, Sr. and Gladys Roane; his sister, Mary Sheally; and his brother, Mark Roane. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ginny Roane; three sons, John A. Roane, III, Jason S. Roane, and Christopher H. Roane; and five grandchildren, Sean A. Roane, Laura M. Roane, Athena H. Roane, and Isabella M.K. Roane.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 24, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, Va 23666. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434.
