Dear Family ~
A very special friend of mine called last night after being away for several days.  I had left her an email message about John.  Understandably she was upset to hear about his passing, but she also eagerly shared her thoughts of how VERY special, sweet, and kind he was. Even though they knew each other only through me, a mutual friend, John was right there to help when a few years ago my friends were having a difficult time.  He arrived at their home and said, "I want to do whatever I can to help." They had just had a load of wood delivered that needed to be chopped and stacked.  John went right to work and did the job assigned to him. Probably not easy for one who was in his early 60's! Never did John share this with me though...he WAS so remarkably like his Savior...abundantly blessing others by going forth and quietly doing loving, good deeds with no desire for any recognition. I am sure you'll hear so many lovely stories like this about him. He was indeed the best of the best!  How fortunate we were to have him a part of our lives.  Blessings to all...xo Rita Olney Pierce

I am very sorry to learn of John's passing.  I have wonderful memories of time spent at the Schwartz household with you and John.
My thoughts are with you and your family,

I was so sorry to hear of John's passing.  I worked with him for a number of years at DHMC and feel so grateful to have known him.  He was our Accounting Dept. historian, whenever we had an occasion to dig into the background of a process we would go to John and he would fill us in with all the details.  He was always quick with a smile and a laugh, which would brighten your work day.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

I was saddened to hear about John's passing.  I worked with him at DHMC for many years and considered him to be one of the most honest persons I worked with.  We enjoyed talking about sports, and he always talked warmly about his family.  I have fond memories of two trips to Red Sox games with John.  My thoughts and prayers are with you today as you celebrate and remember his life.  Please know that in his quiet but confident way he touched many of us at DHMC and made our work days more enjoyable.

How very shattered and saddened I was to hear of your great loss this morning.  
John was truly one of the best friends I ever had. He, our mutual friend, Denny, and I shared many wonderful and very fun times for about nine years after reconnecting at a class reunion.
We were a little disappointed when he decided to marry because our threesome was disbanding, but once we met you, Caron, we knew why he chose you.  You two were perfectly matched...just absolutely beautiful together!  How he loved and adored you.  
John was such a shining example of what it means to be a follower of Christ...shining forth the Light of Jesus into a very dark and wounded world.  He was a blessing to everyone he met and so very well respected.
Like my daughters and I experienced at our time of great loss, may you also see God in the faces of friends, hear Him in their soothing voices, and feel Him in the touch of their loving hands. May their help and caring reflect His love and kindness at this time when you need Him most.
