Jonathan Dwight Barnes

CDR Barnes was Deputy Director for ship maintenance and material at Commander Naval Air Force Atlantic (Comnavairlant). He retired in July 31, 2004 after 25 years of service.

CDR Barnes was preceded in death by his father, T. Reed Barnes and brother, Ronald R. Barnes. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Renee Porter Barnes of Yorktown; two sons, David T. Barnes of Charlottesville and Daniel R. Barnes of Yorktown; mother, Mary Jane Barnes of Cambridge, MD; nieces, Michelle Swartz and family of Preston, MD, Erin Milliken and son of Easton, MD, Kelly Andrews of Stevensville, MD; nephew, Stephen Barnes and wife, Heidi of Preston, MD.

A celebration of CDR Barnes’ life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home.

Memorial donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.
