Joyce Spruill Johnson

Joyce was a native of Columbia, North Carolina and has been a resident of Newport News for 22 years.

She was an Office Manager for Diane Y. Smith, C.P.A. for 10 years. She was a member of Northampton Christian Church.

She was preceded in rest by her parents, three brothers, and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bernice L. Johnson; two daughters, Donna Martin (Mike) and Terri Gilbert (Sean); three grandchildren, Ian Martin (Sarah), Addison Gilbert, and Brylynn Gilbert; three brothers, Barry Spruill, Glen Spruill, Horace Spruill; sister, Dale Duncan.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, Monday, July 18, at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held immediately following at 2:00 pm in the funeral home with interment in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
