Judy was the firstborn of four children, born in Lunenburg County, Virginia on May 5, 1949 to the late Cable Wesley Perkins and Willie Lee Perkins (née Montgomery). She was a lifelong Virginian, living in the Hampton Roads area for almost 70 years. She married her husband, Luther E. Damron, Jr. (Luke) in 1972. Their love and laughter filled their home for almost 50 years.
Judy was at her happiest when she was surrounded by her family, particularly during any holiday or weekend. She enjoyed time in her kitchen, cooking family meals and baking bread, muffins, and other desserts for family. Judy was also a voracious reader, an avid doll collector, and a self-styled gadget person. In addition to her calling to motherhood, she worked in various positions at Hampton Christian Schools and New Covenant Church, retiring as Treasurer in 2019.
Her love, light, and slight mischief will be deeply missed.
Judy was preceded in death by her father, Cable and her sister, Deborah Gail Hare.
She is survived by her husband, Luke; her three children, Luther E. Damron, III (Virginia), Christopher Wesley Damron (Melissa), and Amy Lynn Dixon (Drew); her mother, Willie; and two brothers, Thomas W. Perkins (Brittney) and Michael Perkins (Bobbie). She also had four grandchildren who were the light of her world: Haven Dixon, Jaden Dixon, Katelyn Dixon, and Olivia Faith Damron.
