Karon Scott

Karon Scott, a beloved mother, Nana, sister and friend, passed away on August 21, 2026, leaving a legacy of love and laughter. Born on December 28, 1965, in Hampton, Virginia, Karon was the cherished daughter of late Robert and Jacquline Scott. Her life was centered around family, kindness, and simple joys that brought her peace.

Karon’s journey began in Hampton, where she graduated from Kecoughtan High School in 1984. With a heart full of generosity, she dedicated much of her career to customer service, a field which she excelled in until 2018. It was then that she chose to focus entirely on her cherished family and doting on her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Grandview beach was her sanctuary. She found solace in the rhythmic sounds of the waves and the scent of the saltwater, spending countless hours collecting shells and sea glass. These moments by the ocean were her refuge, a place where she could breathe deeply and find tranquility.

Karon’s love knew no bounds, and she was profoundly devoted to her children, Steven Pierce, Heather Norman and her husband Brian, and Vanessa Grey and her husband Wayne. Her greatest joy came from watching her family grow, and she was an adoring Nana to Seth Pierce, Abel Pierce, Myaa Norman, and Robert Grey. Every moment spent with them was a treasure and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Known for her infectious laughter and boundless kindness, Karon had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel cherished. Her heart was as vast as the ocean she loved, and her presence was a gift to all who knew her. Her humor and warmth made every gathering brighter, and she never missed an opportunity to bring happiness to others.

Karon is survived by her siblings, Kevin Reca (Robin), Bobby Scott (Brian), Lecia Reca and Paul Reca. She is also remembered fondly by countless nephews, nieces, family and friends.

As we remember Karon, let us celebrate her life lived with a heart full of love and a soul that found joy in the simple beauty of the world. Her memory will forever be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The family will receive friends for a Visitation that will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Chapel, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation at 6:00pm, in the Chapel.
