On August 10th, 2012 Kathryn Nicole VanDusen lost her battle with heart disease. Katie was a sweet, exuberant 17 year old girl. She loved art, generating stories and creating culinary masterpieces. She enjoyed sharing her warmth with the residents of the Arbors at Port Warwick; she was a rising senior at Phoebus High School.
She is survived by her loving parents Frances and Eric VanDusen of Hampton; her sister, Megan Hlinka of Bethesda MD; two grandmothers, Margaret VanDusen of Oak Harbor, WA and Ruth Ferrari of Newport News; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her positive charm will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Kathryn's life to begin at 2:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
