Larry Carlton Battle was born on the November 24, 1950, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was the youngest child of Cardie and Minnie Battle. Larry graduated from Nash Central High School in 1969 and attended Durham Technical College after graduation. Larry enjoyed playing golf, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was active in his church, Calvary Chapel, in Newport News; and was a member of the church transportation team. Larry always made himself available to help out anyone in need. He was a very caring husband, father, and friend.
