Leroy Joseph Guidry, Jr., 49, of Hampton, Virginia, affectionately known as "Patat", passed away on August 29, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1976, in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Leroy grew up with a love for baseball, roller skating, and skateboarding, spending much of his youth surrounded by friends and family who admired his energy and enthusiasm. That same spirit carried into his adult life, where he became known as the life of the party, someone who could light up a room with his humor, charm, and genuine kindness.
He built a career as a roofer, a trade that reflected both his strong work ethic and his willingness to help others. Leroy was admired not only for his skill but also for his generosity and readiness to lend a hand. Outgoing and well-liked by all who knew him, he created lasting connections everywhere he went.
Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Joseph Guidry, Sr., grandparents, Rosalie Guidry, Gerald Guidry, Sr., and Thomas Frelich, and his uncles, Glynn Guidry, Sr., Luke Guidry, and Gerald Guidry, Jr.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Frelich Guidry; two aunts, Lesley Dunagin and her husband Kenneth, and Darlene Picou and her husband Charles. Darlene, lovingly known as his nanny, held a special place in his heart. Leroy was also proud to serve as parrain to Zachary Dunagin, Lesley’s son. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Leroy’s presence was larger than life, and the impact he made on those around him will continue to live on in the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.
