Linda Yvonne Davis

Linda Yvonne Davis was born July 12, 1952, in Newport News, Virginia. She was the daughter of Lila Mae Ebron and Peter L. Ebron. She was the third of nine siblings; Diane, Willie, Larry, Vernestine, Thomas, Alice, Eric, and Michelle. She passed on July 14, 2025, in Hampton, Virginia.

Linda attended Dunbar Elementary School, before moving to Philadelphia, where she attended Bartam High School. Linda married her childhood sweetheart, Timothy Davis, on February 28, 1970. They had two children; Tracy and Tim Jr. She worked in Sales at Hofheimer’s Shoe store, and in the daycare system with her sister, Vernestine Gray. She later pursued a career in education by teaching at Gethsemane Baptist Church and then moving on to the public school system as a teacher’s assistant. Linda was also in the choir and on the hospitality committee for Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she’s been a loyal member of the congregation.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy Davis; brothers, Willie L. Ebron, Larry Ebron, Thomas Ebron, and Eric Ebron; and sister, Alice Wilkerson. She is survived by her children, Tracy Y. Lockhart (Daryl), and their children, Genesis Henderson (Nesha) and Tiffany Lockhart; son, Timothy Davis Jr. (Lavern), and their daughter, Danielle Davis; and one great-granddaughter, Riley Robinson, who all live in North Carolina. Close friends Christina, Blanche, Valerie, and Barbara; special cousin, Vernell; and many extended family members including nieces and nephews.

A public visitation, with light reception for Linda will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666. A public visitation will occur Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 5405 Roanoke Ave, Newport News, VA 23605. A celebration of life service will occur Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11:00 AM. An interment to follow the service will occur Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Hampton Memorial Gardens, 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
