Louis Altro

Mr. Louis Altro, age, 65, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at his home. He was born in Bronx, NY and was a resident of Ossining, NY for 35 years and had most recently resided in Hampton, VA. After graduating from high school from the School of Aviation Trade, he received his Associates Degree in Business from Mercy College. During his working career he wore many hats. His favorite time of work was with Pan Am Airlines, in fleet services, where he retired after 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Louis was preceded in rest by his loving wife, Son Mi Altro, whom he met in Korea on a blind date and later married in 1965. He is also preceded in rest by brother, Charles Altro; parents, Albert and Rita Altro, and sister-in-law, Jessie Altro. He is survived by his son, Daniel Altro; daughters, Michelle Walker, Tina Hagan (Eugene), Denise Dixon (Troy), and Sabrina Gibson (Anthony); grandchildren, Robert, Bryon, Mika, Rian, Aiden, Anne and Bridget; and brother, Albert Altro. Services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Arrangements are under the care of Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, VA 23666.
